A lot of people want a second line for other purposes such as work. And we don’t want to share or link our personal contacts list to your app. It constantly says access to my contacts list is required.

Costing me business

I’ve been using this app for years and it’s been inconsistent. I’ll miss messages that will arrive a day later and now it’s not even working with my phone, can’t make calls/texts or receive them. Offloaded and uploaded, tried to login and can’t. Won’t even let me get past “forgot password”.

Horrible signal with both calls and text

As the title states, I’ve had horrible issues with signal when it comes to calling or sending out texts. I keep getting the failed call error when dialing and my texts will be delayed and a big batch of them sent all at once — if they even get sent at all. Definitely not worth it.

I would pay if it was 10$ a month and had an Apple Watch app that lets you make calls and texts

The app is very nice. Clean interface, nice UI. I really like the logo of the app (please don’t ever change this). I like how the app looks like iOS iPhones native app. however I wish the fee could be dropped from 15$ a month to 10$ a month or there was a free plan with a certain limited number of texts each month and you can create another phone without linking to your phone and I wish there was an Apple Watch app version that lets you make calls and texts on the Apple Watch. After you stop paying the subscription, the app won’t let you access old chats or see a history or old numbers with sideline or old chats. Please fix this.

Solid Second Number

I use my number for my job and it was really easy to set up. Calls are consistently clear and my boss lets me expense my subscription since it’s affordable. I have tried a few other apps and the call quality on Sideline is just way much better. Highly recommend giving it a try.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!! DONT use!

DO NOT USE OR DOWNLOAD this app! Trust me!! It will randomly LOCK YOUR ACCOUNT FOR 24 hours or longer, and support told me there is NO WAY to unlocked it either!! In the meanwhile, you are PAYING for an application you can’t even use!!! This has happened to me TWICE now!! Absolutely unacceptable and I will never use it again!

Don’t waste your time or money

Been using them for 5 years now. Recently no customer support. People can’t receive my messages and vise versa. Phone calls. Read other reviews. There’s a reason why they’re all bad as of recent

Pay too much for it not to work

I’ve had this app since it was free. The it was like 5.99 per month. It was the best app on the market for all that you could do with it. Now, the app won’t ring. No notifications (yes I have the app notifications on). I lost access to the app for about a month. Had to fight with customer service to get my number back. This last year with this app had been a complete waste of money! Please find a different app, because I definitely will!

It a fraud don’t use it

They are literally a fraud , I don’t believe Apple is letting them use their scam on Apple Store , you will lose your money and your phone number

Do not use.

I signed up for the 7 day free trial. Moments after they charged me the full monthly amount and I haven’t done anything to the account yet. I’ve reached out to Apple for a refund as it was signed up for through the App Store, and they wouldn’t give my money back. :/ make sure it’s what you want before you sign up at all.

Stopped working with no explanation … but got quick help

It looks like other people are having the same problem. The number looks like it stopped working in the last week or two. I've had my VPN off, and I only use US locations (LA, Denver, Phœnix, Dallas, etc.). **** I’m updating this review because they were finally able to find the problem & didn’t leave me hanging & - as with most companies these days - didn’t make it impossible to keep reaching out for help. Big thanks to Ryan & team for getting the app going again for me!

Logged me out

The app logged me out and won’t let me back in. I have tried everything and now it just sent me a message to try again in 24hrs. I contacted customer support but they did not help me. I am a business owner and my customer cannot contact me because my number is locked in Sideline!! Worst thing that could ever happen to a business. I tried to message the sideline technical support a million times and they will not get back with me. Horrible experience and terrible customer service!!!

Be Careful!!!

Sideline decided that my texts from my business needed to be flagged and without my notification shut down my business phone number for 5 days costing me unknown amounts of money. To me this is brutally unacceptable.

Been a loyal customer for 5+ years

I’ve been a loyal customer for 5+ years. Stayed even when they increased prices twice… but they have blocked my account “due to violations of the t’s and c’s” twice now. And they won’t tell you why and they also won’t tell you when it happens. You’ll just stop receiving calls and messages…the first time it happened, they restored my account within a day I think and I had to reselect my number…. This time I don’t know what will happen, but I’m over it… anyway, I canceled because operating a company like this is ridiculous.

Horrible

Worst ever. Horrible reception. Callers hear echo on every call. Impossible to find out how to cancel subscription. Class action lawsuit should be in effect.

They lie about free trial

I signed up for free trial it charged me for a full Month as soon as I clicked. I will be contacting apple support about these scammers first thing in the morning.

Garbage

Had the app for almost a yr. Never worked right. Voicemail greeting would work, now I can’t receive/send texts. AND they charge you $20 to transfer your number to someplace else. When you use it for business every interaction matters! Totally garbage.

Scam

As soon as I signed up I received a message that my outbound communication is paused for 7 days. Canceled.

App Stopped working 1/8/25

App stopped working a week ago and I had no idea until I realized I haven’t received any calls and texts for a week. Had a friend do a test and they received a message back saying my number is no longer in service. I was never notified about any service disruption or issues. It won’t even let me text or call anyone right now. I have the yearly subscription that goes until May. There is no way to quickly get in contact with sideline. You just have to send an email and hope they respond. I have not yet received any responses from them about the issue. What’s going on?

Made me change my number

I pay so why is it saying my number is inactive and I need a new number? I do business with this number. I need an explanation asap

Unreliable and 0 customer service

Had this app for 2 years, On the 5th of January they locked me out of my account without explanation and havent heard back from them. Lost all my contacts and correspondence. Still no answers. Its been over a week and has ruined my business.

GARBAGE TRASH

Trash app doesn’t work at all. You pick a number, then it says all your outgoing communications are paused. Then all of a sudden your number expired and you have to pick another. Then you pick another and your communications are paused. Then your number is expired and you have to pick another. Over and over and over again don’t ever download this it’s a waste of time.

Why stopped working?

Been using the paid version for years and now after update it does not make calls. Getting a pop up “something went wrong” That’s all?

I’ve had sideline since the very beginning. The number now shows inactive and I need to get another number, losing all messages and contacts. Support emails have not responded after numerous messages.

The incoming calls are not coming through.

The incoming calls are not coming through. They are showed as “missed”. Went through troubleshooting with the article they had, still not coming through. Emailed customer service- no response for several days. Unacceptable. Will cancel my subscription.

I can’t block spam.

Blocking spam doesn’t work. The spam just keeps coming from the same spammers.

Pay Monthly…Lose Number And Contacts

BEWARE!!! I’ve reached out a few times regarding loosing my number, contacts, and text messages. I can no longer contact those who I need to because all of my contacts and text messages are gone. I still haven’t heard anything back from anyone. I can’t even log back into my account because the number the I pay for is needed to do so. My monthly payment is automatically drawn from my bank account faithfully without any issues, but I can’t seem to get anyone to respond to me regarding this matter. Please BEWARE if you are reading this! This is ridiculous!

Inconsistent and unreliable

This app is extremely inconsistent and considering I am using it for business. It has been absolutely unreliable, I miss calls as if they never came in. I have people say they leave me voicemails, I see the voicemails but can't actually listen to them. Making outgoing calls a lot of times it won't ring or I can't hear the other person. I consistently get complaints of poor quality and background noise. When my environment is quiet, I have reached out to support multiple different times with no response. There are other options for a 2nd number that are way better.

Texting problems

Have used Sideline for a few years. With the latest update (v12.83), cannot send or receive texts (running on iOS 18.2). The app is no longer useful.

Deleted my number

Terrible! I paid for the yearly for my business and now my number is gone. And my business is not able to take phone calls. And of course no customer service available!! Terrible just terrible!!!

Scam

This app is a scam I’ve had it for two years and now they won’t allow me to receive calls and have no customer service support. Says I don’t have an active subscription but when I try to activate my subscription it says I already have one, so then I try to restore my subscription and it says I don’t have an active subscription. It’s a never ending loop of poor customer service, I have already emailed support and have heard nothing. I want my money back!

Do not recommend this service.

I’ve been using Sideline for about a year, but my experience has been far from satisfactory. The biggest issues I faced were the poor phone connection and frequent dropped calls, which made it extremely frustrating to use for anything important. On top of that, my phone number was inexplicably changed during the service year, which caused me to lose several critical calls and contacts. I initially chose Sideline for its promise of reliability and convenience, but the unstable connection and unexpected number change completely undermined those expectations. As someone who relies on steady communication, this service was a major letdown. Unfortunately, despite committing to a one year subscription, the experience has not been worth it. If you’re looking for dependable and professional communication, I’d recommend exploring other options. Sideline needs to address these stability issues if it hopes to retain customers in the future.

Too many issues

This app is a good concept as I need a second number for work. But lately I just issues, for one I lost my number for a few days and that was a nightmare and now I can’t answer any calls, they disconnect and I have to call them back. And their customer service is too busy tried both chat and phone with no success.

Def not ideal

There’s always been a delay which is very annoying , ruins an organic conversation, and definitely deters me from calling most of the time if i could help it. I use this line for business and honestly if i have to have an important call i usually call the client back from my primary phone line.

Inconsistent messaging.

Sideline certainly has its pros, but it has seen really inconsistent sending and receiving of texts. Especially in receiving or sending photos—sometimes it works, but other times your photo does not send and you don’t receive one when others are sending them. But also recently, since the update to IOS 18.1.1, I haven’t been able to send or receive texts. I send texts, but people aren’t getting them. I wish the app was less buggy and more consistent in quality, especially for the price point you’re paying for a monthly subscription. If it does not improve, I will be switching to a competitor.

Bait & Switch

This app and its developer are an absolute scam. For years, I used this app for free because it relied entirely on my T-Mobile cell service, which I already pay for. The app provides no network, no Wi-Fi, and no added value—just a secondary number tied to my own cellular network. Without my service, the app is completely useless. Then, out of nowhere, they imposed a subscription fee of $129 a year or $15 a month, without any warning or notice. What am I being charged for? The app doesn’t provide me with anything—it piggybacks off the service I’m already paying for! This is nothing but a blatant bait-and-switch tactic. They hooked users by offering a free service, and once we became reliant on it—once we had numbers tied to the app—they slapped us with outrageous fees, knowing it would be a hassle to switch to another provider. Now I’m stuck because my phone number is tied to this app. Transferring it to another app would be a frustrating and time-consuming process. It’s infuriating to see a company take advantage of their users like this. This is unethical, predatory, and an outright abuse of consumer trust. I fully intend to report this fraud to the Federal Trade Commission, the Better Business Bureau, and every consumer protection agency I can. To anyone considering downloading this app: don’t fall for their lies. They’re nothing but greedy opportunists exploiting their users.

Paid 14 bucks for one month and they deleted my number after One week! When I did have it it was all static dropped calls poor picture quality. Go with a different app

Too many problems now

I have had the paid app for years no issues. Then 4 weeks ago it fell apart. Spoke to customer service and still not fixed. Calls lag, choppy and scratching. I don’t know what to do here. Need something that works.
